- Help continually expand and improve IA activities and services for yourself as well as other IA members
- FREE attendance at IA regular monthly meetings while you are an active volunteer
Volunteers Needed
==Streaming Audio Advisor:==We need a technical advisor that can set up a live streaming Internet feed for our Internet Chapter. The feed needs to be hooked up to a live phone line and streamed in real time. We also need to record the stream. We are currently signed up with Playstream.com who offers flash streaming. Flash streaming would be ideal since almost everyone already has flash installed on their computer and flash can be streamed with a dial up connection. We will give you credit for two Bay Area Chapter meetings if you help us set this up ($30 value). If you don't live in the Bay Area, we will give you two hours of invention consulting time for free.== Newsletter Archivist:==We need someone to help archive all the newsletters we send out. You would simply cut and paste past newsletters into an index. Then you would summarize who the speaker was, when the meeting took place ect.. Only very basic HTML skills are required. You would need to already have the software to do this. You will receive free attendance at the Bay Area Chapter and Sacramento Chapter as long as you continue to archive all the newsletters we send out.
==Check In And Set Up Volunteer:==We need someone to help with check in and setup at our Bay Area Chapter meetings. You would need to volunteer every month or at least every other month. We need people who can consistently help. The $15 meeting fee is waived for the meeting you volunteer at.
==Publicity Manager:==We need someone to help us get the word out about the Inventors Alliance. You will be submitting event announcements to the editors of the events sections of newspapers and magazines. You will also send out press releases and submit event listings to various web sites. We will give you free attendance to the Bay Area and Sacramento Chapter meetings as long as you continue to get releases published.
==Newsletter & Web Site Proofreader:== We need someone to proofread all outgoing newsletter for typos, incorrect dates ect.. The volunteer would receive and a pre press e-mail and be expected to correct and return it within a day or two at most. They would also be expected to review the web site for mistakes once a week and update our online calendar. This volunteer would receive free attendance at all Bay Area Chapter and Sacramento Chapter meetings for as long as they continued to volunteer.
==Free Stuff Coordinator:== We need someone to find free stuff we can give away at our live meetings in Palo Alto, Sacramento and on the Internet.
==Internet Chapter Publicity Manager:==We need someone to help get the word out about our FREE internet chapter to the world. Anyone in the world can attend our Internet Chapter lectures completely free and we want to let the world know about it through the Internet. This person would be responsible for posting in chat rooms, requesting free banners and links be places on various web sites ect.. This volunteer would receive either free consulting time or free Bay Area or Sacramento Chapter attendance.
==Meeting Day Check In== Help check members in the morning of our meetings. Also, help with setup and break down on meeting day.
