Bruce Lundeen of Fobis Technologies Inc. is the inventor of the WeeMote remote control for kids among other things. http://www.weemote.com Bruce will share his knowledge of manufacturing, marketing and inventing with us.
The title of Bruce's lecture is "The highs and lows of coming up with an idea and getting it to market. What to do and what you definitely don't want to do!"
Bruce graduated with honors from Cal Poly Pomona in electrical engineering. Until 10 years ago, Bruce had been working for large companies like Unisys and Sun Microsystems where he generally got to work on only a small part of a larger design and usually you never saw the final product.
Since then he has been working mostly as a senior design engineer/program manager that can bring products to the market for large or small companies and has helped other inventors bring their products to the market.
"If you can not afford to have an engineering staff, I can bring you a "virtual" design team that takes a product from the development stages and puts it on the retail shelves.
One of Bruce's most successful products was designed by his partner himself, it's called the "Weemote", a TV remote for kids. It was created, designed, developed and brought to market by only 2 people.
Since its introduction at the New York Toy Fair in Feb 2000, Bruce and his partner have shipped over 200,000 units. The Weemote has been sold in Target stores, specialty shops, catalogs and over the web through his web site.
Come learn from someone who has successfully brought a product to market. Bruce with share his knowledge and experiences with you on Saturday, May 14th. |
