About The Speaker

David Pressman is a practicing intellectual property (patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, etc.) attorney in San Francisco. He is also the author of the best-selling do-it-yourself guidebook, Patent It Yourself, published by Nolo Press (Berkeley, CA).

Patent It Yourself is in its 16th edition, has sold over 300,000 copies and is recommended by Money MagazineThe Denver Post called it an inventors' bible, Library Journal rated it as an outstanding self-help guide, and The Second Whole Earth Catalog said, the other patent books seem like mere abstracts compared to this detailed gem of a book

David Pressman is also the co-author of The Inventor's NotebookThe Patent Drawing Book, Patents For Beginners, and Patent Pending In 24 Hours.

Pressman, formerly an electronic engineer, has over 40 years of experience in the patent profession; as a patent examiner, a corporate and independent intellectual property attorney, a columnist for EDN Magazine, and a patent law instructor at San Francisco State University. He is author of the Patent and Trademark entries in The World Book Encyclopedia. A former member of Mensa, Pressman holds a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a J.D. from The George Washington University, where he was on the Law Review.
